Recyclables Sorter

PROBLEM: Mixed-material containers frequently end up in landfills because manual and mechanical sorting systems struggle to correctly identify and separate different materials (e.g., plastic, metal, and glass).

SOLUTION: With a team of four, developed an automated smart bin capable of detecting, classifying, and separating common container materials in real time. The system integrates inductive sensors and a load cell in order to sort the container into the correct bin.
